Chromebook Insurance

By mid-September, students at all grade levels will get a Dell Chromebook. Chromebooks run the Google Chrome operating system, a lightweight OS that is designed to run apps over the web. The devices are protected from viruses and managed by the district through a central web console.

These computers allow access to anytime, anywhere, anyway learning, and allow students to build technology skills and responsibility in a safe and caring environment. Chromebook Insurance is now available and may be purchased at https://payments.efundsforschools.com/v3/districts/55532.

Derrick Walton Basketball Camp

Over 100 3rd-8th grade students registered for our 1st Annual Derrick Walton Basketball Camp. During this 3-day camp, featuring boys and girls, newcomers and seasoned players, all participants are trained to develop their basketball skills with a variety of different drills.

Caden Skelton, 5th grade student at Lake Orion Community Schools, wore his special ordered Walton shirt proud. The 53 minute drive from Lake Orion to the Shores would not stop him, or his parents, from camp attendance.

It is a beautiful thing to see Lake Shore basketball players coach and mentor younger, aspiring basketball players alongside Miami Heat’s Derrick Walton Jr.

Bond Updates

Our summer construction wave has produced new and improved schools and grounds. We have completed or broke ground on major infrastructure renovations, such as roofing, windows, HVAC and technology upgrades. New construction projects (Lake Shore High School, Masonic Heights Elementary and North Lake High School, Violet Elementary and Taylor) include sustainability features, helping us maximize life cycles. Thank you, Lake Shore Community, for passing a $35 million Safety, Security, and Technology bond back in 2016.

Our Mission

Lake Shore Public Schools provides an exceptional education for all 3,516 students in a safe and nurturing environment.  Our students are empowered to excel in an evolving global society, supported by the collaborative effort of staff, families, and community.

From preschool through our graduating seniors, Lake Shore students are a part of a strong school system that works hard every day for the benefit of our students. Our guiding principles, Inspiration, Innovation, and Celebration, are woven into the fabric of everything we do.

Lake Shore offers accelerated learning opportunities starting in elementary school. Students consistently have strong test scores, and teachers utilize the latest technology to track individual student progress throughout the school year. The district currently offers foreign language starting in Kindergarten. Elementary students enjoy daily enrichment opportunities and a full calendar of extracurricular activities.  Our middle and high schools are home to award winning athletics and fine and performing art programs. Lake Shore offers dual enrollment and early college opportunities for students free of charge.

Macomb County families seeking a quality education for the preschool-11th grade students are invited to apply through our Schools of Choice program.
