Title IX

In compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, (including sexual orientation or transgender identity), disability, age, religion, height, weight, marital or family status, military status, ancestry, genetic information, or any other legally protected category, (collectively, "Protected Classes"), in its programs and activities, including but not limited to employment opportunities, educational programs or activities, e.g., extracurricular activities, student services, academic counseling, discipline, classroom assignment, grading, athletics, transportation, etc. 

Unlawful Discriminatory Practices Under Title IX
  • Sexual Harassment (unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature)
  • Sexual Misconduct/Violence (rape, sexual assault, sexual battery, sexual exploitation and other forms of nonconsensual sexual activity)
  • Stalking (repeatedly following, harassing, threatening or intimidating including by telephone, mail, electronic communication or social media)
  • Retaliation (adverse academic or other actions against anyone reporting or participating in an investigation of Title IX allegations)
If an employee or student believes that he or she has been discriminated against in violation of Title IX, please reference the District’s Title IX Grievance Procedures regarding Anti-Harassment, Non-Discrimination, Sexual Violence, and/or Equal Employment policies, which are outlined in Board of Education Policy available on the District’s website, and on request from the Department of Employee Services.
 
Reporting Prohibited Behavior

Members of the school district community who believe that a Title IX violation may have occurred, should discuss their concerns and/or file a complaint with a District’s Title IX coordinator.
