On Friday, March 11, 2022, the MDHHS rescinded the Emergency Order dated October 6, 2020, requiring schools to post public notice of confirmed and probable school-associated COVID-19 cases on the school's website.
Lake Shore Public Schools is committed to utilizing layered mitigation strategies to reduce the spread and potential exposure of COVID-19 while being responsive to community COVID levels, both spread increase and decrease. The District will continue to work closely with the Macomb County Health Department, communicate known strategies for reducing risk and creating safer environments, as well as enforce all health orders. Lake Shore will utilize and encourage multiple preventative measures while being prepared to institute increased measures if necessary.

As directed by the Macomb County Health Department please maintain awareness of your health with respect to the list of common COVID-19 symptoms and stay home when ill; and self-isolate and self-report if you are COVID-positive or exhibit symptoms of COVID-19.

Masks
Currently, KN95 and N95 face masks are recommended by the CDC, American Academy of Pediatrics, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and the Macomb County Health Department for students, staff and visitors in school buildings while school is in session. Per the current CDC health order, they are required on all school busses.
Building Cleaning
Classrooms, hallways, common areas, bathrooms, cafeterias, busses, etc. will continue to utilize enhanced cleaning procedures established last year. These include enhanced air filtration, disinfecting and antiviral misting, wiping down of frequent touch points, and hand sanitizing stations.

Notification of confirmed cases will be shared via SchoolMessenger and cumulative case counts will be posted daily to our website.
COVID Liaison/School Medical Assistants
Lake Shore will continue to employee medical assistants at each building and a COVID Liaison to assist families in COVID and health related matters.
COVID-19 Vaccine
All persons 5 years and older are encouraged to utilize the available vaccination as a means for immunizing individuals against COVID and minimizing its spread and impact. Fully vaccinated means a person has received their primary series of COVID-19 vaccines. Please speak to your health care provider or the Macomb County Health Department for further information.
